Illegal documents of citizenship

Among other things that identify you as a valid citizen of a particular country is your Passport. Regardless of anything else you might posses from that nation: ration cards, social security cards, drivers licences, voter ID card and what not, it is the Passport that certifies you when you go into another nation. Yes, one cannot select what country one is born in. Today, some parents take it into their hands (and minds) to select a country for their unborn child to come into so that he/she can be a citizen of that nation by birth.

But whatever it be, every country, every nation has its faults and they have their beauty. As is portrayed so beautifully in a single-shot scene in the famous Hindi movie "Munnabhai MBBS" as well as several episodes of the famous american reality race "The Amazing Race", foreigners who visit our country (India) concentrate on portraying India as a Country of the Poor. Only we that live in India know of the beauty that extends beyond the limits of the infamous jhuggis, zoppadpattis and illegal colonies that dirtly dot every Indian metropolis.

The other side of the coin is that people are usually unnecessarily narcissistic and paranoid. They believe that the government of the country has nothing better to do than chase them around and destroy their privacy and peace of mind. Unless you're an enemy of the state, you have nothing to hide. And most normal folk are not enemies of the state.

Why then do sites like this exist and flourish? I declare my Veto against all of them.

Till next time then!

The Fifth Pillar

The name emerged out of a casual yet focused conversation with a long lost friend. A friend, who was never lost, as somewhere down my memory lane, he still used to visit the remains. It is to celebrate the effort of the reminiscence, the use of technology for the right means.

It was then as usual, that he reminded me of something that governs the whole affair of governance--journalism or THE FIFTH PILLAR of governance.

And so being fond of writing as he is, and being fond of compilations as I am (of words, I don't call it writing as I find myself barely collecting enough words that would make it a writing, I am learning though)--we dedicate this space to all those who want to talk about anything they want, any issues global or social, humanity or insanity, ethical or unethical, of night or of day, Mathematics or Physics, Politics or Economy, life or existence, death or after death. Something and everything that would have substance to VETO the super powers of this world.

Let goodness prevail.
